From Scratch: Oat Milk

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

3 cups water

Dash of salt

Sweetener to taste (honey, agave, maple syrup, etc.)

Directions:

  1. In a blender, combine all ingredients for 15 seconds.
  2. Pour milk through a cheesecloth or mesh strainer.
  3. Store oat milk in fridge for up to 5 days.
Notes:
This oat milk is creamy and thicker than other milks. Oat milk can be used in place of cow's milk. You can use it as a coffee creamer or to thicken soup. Use the leftover pulp to make something else (like these cookies). You can store your oat milk in a glass jar, if you wish! Check out this blog post to get your jars looking beautiful!
